Bought one, figure my butt might appreciate the $11 upgrade or my wife will... But I can't help and sing "I Like Big Butts and I cannot lie..." while checking out!

Not disagreeing, but aren't the sit bones where your buttocks are? I was think a wide seat would help ensure your bones contact the seat?
With a seat that's too wide you are actually being supported by the soft tissue in your butt and not the bones, which can actually aggravate comfort and pain over time. Getting properly fitted for a seat (width) and choosing cushion levels appropriately after that is always the best bet. Granted, if you only sit on a bike seat for less than 1/2hr at a time and pedal minimally, you're probably fine with anything. An uncomfortable seat doesn't always mean you need something with more padding - it could be the opposite.

Thanks! I was wondering if this one fits my Echelon Prime bike Smilie
Seats are universal. Some bikes have fixed seats that are permanently attached to the post, if that's the case you'll also need to buy a post (~$10 from Amazon). Just make sure you get the right post size

Are these good for mountain bikes, got the decathlon st100 from deal last week, will it be good for this
If you're going down hills with rocks & roots, riding off any kind of drop-offs, or doing much of anything other than just riding on a flat path you'll want the flexibility to shift your weight behind saddle while standing.

Here's an example of the type of range of motion that you'd want -- with something this wide, you're limiting yourself to only being able to move around in front of the saddle and greatly increase your risk of going over the bars:

it looks comfy but bulky. I do have a similar seat on my ebike and it is comfy, better than the stock that came with it but is also slightly bigger. it makes a difference for shorter ebike riders since they don't really make a smaller folding fatty for shorter riders. any suggestions on a comfy but smaller lower profile seat? tia

i bought 2 of these for bikes i rarely use last time it was on sale. I Think they are better than most standard cheap bike seats. Although the shape is very strange, it's more of a bowl like shape, it's a little weird.

I use an electric bike, just hit 5000 miles in about 13 months, and i use a similar bikeroo seat. I paid $38 for it last year, and it's on sale for $21 right now and i think it's a better seat than what is listed. It's way more cushioned and gives way more support. I have chronic and severe lower and upper back pain and this seat allows me to bike 20 miles every day with absolutely no problems, 1 hour at a time.

Its not about wear. Its about comfort and ergonomics. Proper saddles are either hard or semi hard.

A big wide cushy seat like this is great for how so many people ride e-bikes, but if you actually pedal a lot you'd be trading cush issues for chafe issues. After riding a while, the cush level becomes much less important, but chafe issues never go away.
The majority of people are not riding that many miles. Generally I agree that if you put in a lot of miles, you want a more firm saddle. But for average people Bikeroo are great.

So would the other few seats on that same product page be a better middle ground? Or just go with a huge padded seat like this for someone who bikes maybe once a month?

I'm not going to get into an argument about how "the majority" or "average" people ride their bikes but will say that big cushy seats like this Bikeroo are best for those who do not pedal a whole lot. This would include those ebike riders who prefer using the throttle over pedaling, someone who rides their bike a few miles down to the beach, a parent riding to the park with their kids, or people going for a leisurely ride around the lake on the weekend.

If someone pedals 10-30 miles at a time more than once a week, they'll most likely find a bit smaller, slightly less cushy saddle to be better overall.

If someone's riding hundreds of miles a week, they'll want a pretty small saddle with very little in the way of padding.

There's a ton of different ways that people ride their bikes and hundreds of different seats for them to choose from. No one particular type of seat is going to be best for the "majority" or "average" riders. It is up to the individual, their specific build and how and how much they ride.
