At our Costco, it's a gift card for the 2% Executive Membership, and the Citi Costco card is a check which you bring to Costco and they give you cash. The Costco clerk told us a lot of complaints about not giving cash. Been going on for several years.

The Executive Membership 2% back is in the form of a check, not gift card (I just got mine last month). Just cashed it last week at Costco.

General message.

I think most people should buy these watches from Apple during the intro period where they are generally full price everywhere. That's for all Apple watches. You can pay an extra $ 50, and get the band you really want. If you buy one elsewhere, you wind up paying an extra $ 100 for the band you want.

Once price cutting starts, it's a different story. Last month I bought the Series 7 SS, for $ 518, off Amazon. Then I paid Apple $ 100 for the braided solo.

Apple Watch Series 7 45mm GPS Midnight Case with Midnight Sport Band….today $299

I returned a series 6 with cellular that I got for $269 because it was depreciating to fast.

Also do a little research on the health monitor functions ….fairy dust .
Wanna provide some sources for this? I'm not apple fanboy but have done a lot of reading about it lately since I'm interested in health gamification. The blood oxygen sensor isn't FDA approved but it does seem to work good enough for info.

Here's one example of a nonprofit reviewing them for elderly (a high health risk group): https://www.ncoa.org/adviser/medi...rt-review/

This reddit thread shows quite a bit of anecdotal info that the O2 sensor is close enough for use: https://www.reddit.com/r/AppleWat..._on_the_7/

I don't think they are going to sway too many Garmin users until they add fully featured navigation with included maps of the entire world like my Garmin Fenix 7X Sapphire Solar (which BTW I got with 20% coupon on the release day, so same price as Apple).

Now a fully featured dive computer (though not air integrated) is something that makes me interested in this apple watch. And satellite communication support makes me interested in iPhone 14. And stupid Samsung gutting S22 Ultra (and S21) - no SD card, no 3.5mm plug, no charger in the box - makes me wanna switch to iPhone just to stick it to Samsung. But I'm not a Mac user...
I'm a complete Windows user but enjoy my iPhone, iPad, AirPods, and Apple Watch without using a Mac at all.

Research has found that the Apple Watch heart rate function can be accurate for detecting atrial fibrillation, but only in about one-third of cases. AP

First, the Apple Watch, like virtually every other fitness tracker, doesn't measure calories accurately. Stanford researchers tracked energy expenditure with the Apple Watch along with six other fitness trackers, and they found readings that deviated from their standard by up to 43 percent.

16, 2020 — The Apple Watch's blood oxygen sensor is less accurate than you think ... As always, it's best to consult with a doctor before trusting Apple's ...

I will say they are making strides….I'm hoping that Watch 9 will have the Mood Ring option
that will text me when I need to hide.

My biggest complaint is the battery I have another chinese watch that will get 10 days on a charge.

I think I know what you're talking about as I saw it on a reddit thread. The rebate comes in the form of a Costco paper certificate (I called it a check but you're referring it as a gift card). Either way, I took it to the front and they cashed it out. I hear that people are complaining tha they no longer cash them out but if you buy something with it, they will give you the change in cash. I just went to the front of the house cashier spot and they cashed the paper certificate for me no questions asked.

I think they might sway some fringe Garmin users away. I love my Garmin but when I heard the rumors about a tougher a Apple Watch with longer battery I was intrigued. Then I found out longer battery life means 2 days.
I just got back from a 5 day backpacking trip and I didn't have to charge my Garmin once despite heavy usage. So for now I'll stick with my Garmin.

You are citing a Stanford article that appears to be 5 years old. All technology has made massive improvements in 5 years, this includes the Apple Watch. Regarding the ECG, I know someone personally who's life was saved by their Apple Watch detecting an anomaly. I'd have more confidence in the Apple Watch ECG than another other watch offering this.

I primarily use Android so by no means am I an Apple enthusiast, but the Apple Watch is the best overall smartwatch around. I say this after doing quite a bit of research where the Apple Watch ranks amongst the best in GPS accuracy, heart rate, sleep and step tracking. It also offers the best smartwatch features around. Garmin may have more for the fitness enthusiast but the Apple Watch is unrivaled as a smartwatch.

You may get 10 days on a charge on your other watch, but I'd guess it can only reliably do a fraction of what the Apple Watch can.

A fraction of what Apple Can Do…. I'll take 4/5s the function at 1/15 the price every 24 months.

Wonder what your grandchildren will say about all the cool Apple Watches you leave them ?
