"Understanding that it needs a good cumulation of CO in order to trigger the alarm, I placed a clear solid plastic cover on the stove with the device in it. Then I turn on the gas without ignition until I can smell the gas at 10 feet away. It does nothing at all.Do you think we can count on it to save our lives?"
Oh buddy, the gas has to be burning to make CO
A smallish amount of radon in a bedroom downstairs basically causes the same cancers as heavy smoking. And testing is free!

Also remember to install a damper clamp for each of your Gaslog (fireplace with fake wood)
If you suspect CO or get an alarm from these device, contact your natural gas company (SoCal Gas, SDG&E in CA) they offer CO inspection at no cost.
Same for mine, subbed with battery model
I checked my email this morning and received a Walmart message these were picked up yesterday (NOT by me!).
I have chatted with Walmart and they will send a request to the store.
I do not know what happened--dis-honest employees?
