Sweeten the deal by using your Chase card that offers 10X/10% rewards at gas station

Should be a good backup since it's little over $1 per gallon more than Costco Gas in my area

Bizarre timing on this one. I topped off at Chevron last night because a 5% Chase Offer was expiring on my Chase Amazon card, the same one that otherwise has 10% cash back on gas. The screen at the pump prompted about a rewards program. I didn't know Chevron had a rewards program.

So I joined today, hours before seeing this thread. There was nothing about 1000 points or $1 off per gallon. I assumed I blew it, by happening to register just before the promotion kicked in.

Nope. I'm in luck. I just checked and now both are touted in my account.

Also, virtually every nearby Chevron seems to participate in the rewards program. This is in Miami. Gas has plunged here this week. Down 16 cents on average. There are numerous stations below $3 and quite a few below $2.90. There's a Mobile in Pembroke Pines showing $2.69 on Gas Buddy. I don't pretend to understand the disconnect between prices soaring in the West but dropping here.

Day to day Chevron here is basically the same as every other name brand fuel, but 10 to 20 cents higher than Costco and BJ's.

Chevron and Texaco have separate apps. Are the rewards linked? Assume not a double dip?

This may help also; Some Happy gift cards can be converted to Conoco Gift cards; Happy gift cards are discounted often (American Express offers, Grocery store offers). Or if you can get discount on Amazon Gift cards, you can convert that to Happy, then to Conoco.

Note: you need Conoco app to keep track of Conoco Gift card balance.

Consider yourself lucky. I've lived in Cali my whole life and I can safely say that we have the worst of everything here, especially in LA area other than the weather. I guess shopping convenience too with stores everywhere to cater to the high population density.
Gosh, I feel kind of guilty living in Georgia now. I've been paying less than $3 for probably 5 months or so. Currently $2.80 at Murphy USA. I think our government got rid of the road tax for the summer months. I notice gas has been creeping up lately; probably from that som bitch Ian.

It's $3.29 and up in ATL….

Your point about the gas tax suspension stands though. The governor extended it just yesterday until….wait for it….2 days after the midterm elections are over , lol. I hate that everything everywhere has to be a political game.

You would think people would be fast at the pump after waiting in a 10+ cars line.
Fuel door already opened, credit card on hand, 1 step Tap to pay, inserting pump and select grade, pump, wait a few min, put pump back, close fuel door and take off.

Instead they park, take a long time to get off the car, open the trunk to get something, go back in the car to open fuel door, fumbles with their purse or wallet looking for their Costco card, swipe, then wait for credit card prompt, looks for credit card, insert, type Zip code, wait for screen, then grab pump, look at screen again, select grade, start pumping, go back to their car and seat, don't even notice pump stopped already, take a long time to get off their phones, stare at pump screen, put pump back, wait for screen options, select no receipt, walk back to car, check their phones again, take a long time to turn on car and leave.
Our local Costco Gas has 24 pumps. The problem is, it's placed in the corner of what used to be a parking lot, and there isn't much space for the cars to queue up, Incoming queue and exiting gas customers clog up the main access road in the parking lot. It's a mess.

I've found if I get there 30 minutes before Costco opens, it's actually not too bad. Last time, I pulled right in and filled up as there were at least 1/2 the pumps empty.

Haha. It is sad that both sides use us as game pieces. I live in that city that starts with a C north of alpharetta that you cant tell anyone you are from unless they are from Georgia. Haha.

I feel kind of guilty driving a plugin hybrid. Last time I put gas in was April 15th. Still have half a tank.
