If you want to give them new life, you can buy a replacement bracelets for many common models, or new straps (leather, rubber, or NATO) for just about any watch.

I have so many seiko and citizen watches that are about 20 years old that I never wear because my wrist got too fat and I lost the extra links. I don't want to buy new ones because it feels like a waste, but I can't wear my old ones.

Fat people problems.

Quartz watches are having a revival. This Seiko is a good entry level- and if you have the cash to spare, here is the top end at $3000 (1 sec accuracy per yr)! https://youtu.be/IQt3ik4yn1M

Any collectibles? You should sell them. I may pick up one or two.

Nice to see prices start to come down finally. This one has a 40.2mm case diameter in case anyone was wondering.

It's disappointing that all the seiko watches for woman are all so formal and dated looking in the US. If you take look at their Japanese selection specially for woman you see a lot more younger and more 20-30 years old style that was quartz or evens automatic.

You can buy jdm watches on the internet. I think Sakura watches was one of the sites?

Ordered 2, the second hand is off, one too forward and one too backward. Is this to be expected? Btw, it comes with a tool for length adjustment.

New watchbands? You could move them between watches as you wear them so you don't have to buy 20.

Looks like the same bracelet that was on a Seiko 5 I purchased and returned. Bracelet is very cheap feeling with rolled links. You can even see the layers of metal when you look at it from the side. This is a common complaint with the Seiko 5.

My wife has a very old Seiko that has a narrow shape. She had me take it into jeweler for a new battery. The owner of the shop said you have a "…valuable watch here, since so many women are asking for a narrow shaped watch and they just aren't made." I was tempted to get an offer from her but I thought better. 🤣
