Instructions:
  1. Get started by downloading the NJ Transit Mobile App
  2. Set up an account in the App
  3. Select 4 One-Way tickets and tap "Proceed to Checkout"
  4. Enter the promotional code FALLFRIENDS
  5. Tap your payment method of choice and purchase the tickets
  6. Your tickets will appear in the "My Tickets" section of the App
  7. Activate both tickets before boarding the train or bus

So I used one ticket in the morning (while on the way to work) and another ticket in the evening (while returning home) and I still have 2 tickets which I can activate and only used tickets have expired and unselected tickets are still available for activation!!

And of course I waited for a day to post this reply after checking the status post 00:00 hours

Yep. Those 4 one-way tickets are yours to use/ activate how you choose. I'm currently on the train from Hamilton to Penn station using 4 tickets the same way you intend to. 2 people round-trip. I activated 2 this morning and still have the remaining 2 for tonight's trip back (IF the conductor checks this evening, that is.) Safe travels!

I wish the AC line had more trains. I'm taking Amtrak out of Philly next week and was just going to take NJT to 30th Street, but the times don't even remotely line up.

may be am being dumb..App doesn't let you buy 2 in one direction & 2 in another at once.. how did you buy 4 for both ways?
