You should know these work on flights only, not the vacation packages. If you book the flight separately on their website you lose the vacation package discount which can be substantial.

From the few trips I priced out they're comparable, maybe even slightly cheaper. Southwest Vacations doesn't offer affiliate links on cashback sites, so going to Travelocity through a 5% cashback link can make up the difference.

The big shock for me was realizing I had $1000 worth of Southwest gift cards I could not use unless I paid $100 more to split the hotel and flight. But then what's the point of having the discounted gift card? I don't want anyone to make that mistake.

I've been doing this every time I fly Southwest and I just bought a gift card this weekend, but I tried to buy another today and they are not available. I've never encountered this before. Is there a chance Costco won't restock at this price?
