Someone on reddit says that they use the $14.98 Mainstays Parsons side table and it works perfectly fine to hold the weight. I believe that. If a concern, I would use that table and put one of my opened gallon paint cans sitting in garage for years in the middle and maybe a piece of wood shimmed in centered. I got milk crates in garage. I actually purchased milk crate. I didn't steal them. People over 150 pounds stand on them fine. Put it under table? That may work.
The big benefit of the 27 gal tote are the notches on top that lock it in to keep it from sliding off. If you dont care about that, then yeah just about any end table will work
I didnt realize the A1U made risers were out of stock everywhere. Thats kind of strange. I wonder if A1U stopped making them due to the cost of materials.
If you want a stopgap, Ive found that the common 27 gallon yellow and black bins fit A1U machines perfectly. Width lines up perfect and the notches on top fit inside the frame to hold it in place. A bit of weight in the bin would help stability but I havent done that and its fine. The only drawback is that they are deeper than the A1U so it pushes them out from the wall a bit
Ive had one under my MK2 since I got it and it looks good enough I havent bothered to get a 'real' riser
Thanks for the link, it is even a few dollars off now. Bought one for my MK2 cabinet as well. I will spray paint the lid black to match, and I think it will match pretty well, and provide some extra storage for anything. The cabinets are light enough and fairly easy to move as long as you don't need to open the container often. Much cheaper than making your own (since the official risers are difficult to find at retail), looks better than some of the cheap end table style substitutions, and provides some extra utility. Repped.
There isn't a lit marquee version of this cabinet. The "Legacy" cabinets are value cabs that include more games but don't have the bells and whistles of the more expensive versions (lit marquee, riser, etc).
Edit: Sorry, was meaning the Walmart version in relation to the guy saying he got Best Buy to price match it with their version. Again, sorry for the confusion.
Not sure why Best Buy would give you a price match on an more expensive upgraded different model. Looks similar but in the Walmart picture, it isn't showing a riser and best buy picture has a riser. No different model numbers?
Just make sure to only show them picture 3

Believe me when I tell you this, these cabinets are awful. What makes them bad is the control panels, they're way too small. The newer ones coming out have a bigger panel and slightly better made. If you buy this be sure to convert it to 1 player panel because it's impossible to play comfortably in 2.
