Project Farm testing of Pennzoils - Platinum didn't do so well vs. Ultra Platinum (or even Full Synthetic!): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D3qFfAEp9AU

The other deal with the shop towels is better because you can cancel the towels and get the money back from them. Not only that, but the towels are billed separately absurdly high. They are billing at like $14.xx or so per towel. That means you get the jug of oil for like 6.xx per jug. That's before any rebate.

Say what? There is no such thing. None of what you said make any sense and that "general rule" is not in any book. Use the oil weight recommended by your vehicle's manufacturer.

I'm still waiting on my 1st rebate after 8+ weeks. Limit of 2 rebates per person. Will have to call Pennzoil on my own time. Rebates are hassle.

Called today with my rebate confirmation #, Pennzoil said due to the large volume of rebate requests there is no ETA when I will be getting my $.

Does it matter that it says Pure Plus? I know it's still Platinum, but apparenty they are very picky with these rebates..people are getting denied for mixing different types (Platinum and Ultra Platium). Just making sure, if anyone can confirm that Pure Plus is good to go

How do you cancel the towels? Do you just return them to the store?

The plus here means an extra free quart of oil. The oil is platinum full synthetic. Pure Plus means it's made from natural gas, still qualifies for rebate.

I only buy the best stuff, extended Mobil 1 or Castrol Gold. Why bother with this inferior stuff, even if a little cheaper?
So which one is the best?

Actually, it's a quality oil. I like M1 EP myself but It doesn't do as well in testing as you would think. But after all, it's oil. But PP is not "inferior" by any means.

Would this be good for an Infiniti 2011 with 111,000 mile on odometer?

The general rule is that if you go lower on the first number number, and higher on the second number, it's not a big deal. The reason is because the engine will never see a viscosity it hasn't experienced before.

If you car calls for 5W-20, you can safely use 0W-20, 0w-30, or 5w-30.
