Is it worth thinking about? Do you make airline choices based on speculation on pilot training while flying domestically in the US?

If I had to speculate, I'd imagine that ROK has higher per capita number air force pilots than the US and that percentage would flow into the pool of commercial pilots upon discharge maintaining a highly trained pool of pilots. not knowing anything about air force pilot training in ROK, US or anywhere else (everything I know about training pilots, i learned in the top gun movies) i'd imagine they are better trained and have more experience than commercial aviation school.

what i think more about is why there are so many more fares to Europe in the $300-$600 RT compared to $1100+ RT to Japan or Korea more frequently.

They already have LLC airline in Korea and start to fly between US and Korea starting end of this month. They offer wider leg room for the economy seat and a premium seat with leg support. The price is very reasonable since the flight ticket price is crazy during the holiday season

I wouldn't worry about the safety concern since most Korean pilots went through the Airforce academy.

That said, there is easy NTSB public data available in some scenarios, like taking a Napali Coast helicopter ride [sfgate.com], where some of the glossy-brochured, most advertised companies are also two of the more unsafe. That may just be based on their carrying more passengers and performing more flights but it is findable.
