Lots of baseless quackery from people who've never been out of this country and never will. SD isn't a political subreddit we just here for cheap stuff. If your comments aren't helpful to the product keep it to yourself.
Is it worth thinking about? Do you make airline choices based on speculation on pilot training while flying domestically in the US?
If I had to speculate, I'd imagine that ROK has higher per capita number air force pilots than the US and that percentage would flow into the pool of commercial pilots upon discharge maintaining a highly trained pool of pilots. not knowing anything about air force pilot training in ROK, US or anywhere else (everything I know about training pilots, i learned in the top gun movies) i'd imagine they are better trained and have more experience than commercial aviation school.
what i think more about is why there are so many more fares to Europe in the $300-$600 RT compared to $1100+ RT to Japan or Korea more frequently.

I wonder how experienced their pilots are. At least within China, there are tons of experienced but too-old-to-fly-by-FAA-standards pilots flying around and lots of young ones who come to flight schools in the U.S. and are embarrassingly unprepared. China and Korea are of course two completely different places but I wouldn't chance a flight on this airline likely underpaying pilots with minimal flight hours flying over the Pacific. Not a conspiracy theorist nor do I know what Korean regulation standards are but ... ... worth thinking about.
Flying over the ocean is not a concern since most of it's autopilot. Its the landing and takeoff you gotta worry about

I've flown Korean and Asiana several times to go to the Philippines. Great people and airlines. I wouldn't hesitate booking with a Korean airline again.
If you are going to make people worry about Korean pilots and airlines, make sure you list your sources.
RT flights usually start at $1300+.... clearly you're seeing something we don't
I stand corrected. Hadn't realized fares are so high la to sk. If you're plans are confirmed and set, value non-stop, this is good, especially for families. Single or couples that want flexibility, there should be more sales, especially with 1 stop.
Interesting. Never have heard of Air Premia before. Apparently founded by a guy who had founded a small airline company in Korea back in the days, and this LAX-ICN is a new route they just started today (or yesterday?).
I am not sure how I feel about flying a budget airline internationally...
