I have one of these - bought it directly from Ooni earlier in the year when they had a sale. Wife wasn't convinced until we used it a couple of times. The whole family loves it now though.
Dough is key. Make your own or buy fresh. Do not buy dough from the grocery store - it will suck. I have had very good luck buying dough from local pizza shops. Many of them will sell you their dough only which was made same day.
Also, you need to get your dough spread out thin and topping light before cooking otherwise it may not cook all the way through to the middle. One hack I learned is to heat up the stone to 900 degrees, then shut off the flames before launching your pie. Let it cook on the hot stone only for a minute or two and then turn the flames back on to finish it. This is a very successful technique for me since I can never get the family to take it easy on the toppings.
I don't understand the downvotes, this is 25% off $599 retail. Nice find, OP! And a great unit, love ours.
I was concerned about this as well. Looks like they are based out of Ohio with several different storefronts nationwide. They also have an A+ rated with the BBB.

I did attempt to have BBY (I have contact there) and Amazon to PM- neither would. I decided to use PayPal for the added security.

Just ordered, not sure if/when the $399 Costco deal is coming back so for $50 more this is pretty nice.
i reached out to Costco and they stated the item is discontinued. I was also waiting for that deal to come back.

At that price one could build proper brick oven for much more superior pizza.
I have off-brand pizza oven and make great napoletana (more than 100 made by now) and if I had to spend that much money I would have bought enough bricks to build it.

Similar to this but sold under a different brand for 240
https://www.amazon.com/Food-Party...0989VK3X1/

There are lots of reasons someone may not be interested in or would be prohibited from building a brick oven. Also, brick ovens aren't exactly portable.

The oven you linked is only 12 inches and at its current price ($299) isn't much cheaper than the Koda 12 has been on sale.

Anyone in a seasonal part of the country, as in winters in new england, own this? I'm curious if you use it al year round, how you store it, etc.

I'd imagine this bad boy takes a while to cool down from 900 degrees. I'd also imagine that if you try to use this in the winter when it's zero outside the drasic changes in temperature may be detrimental to its longevity. Anyone use this thing in their garage in winter or is it too smokey/dangerous/etc?

I live in new england and I keep my Weber grill outside year round without problems. Grilling in the cold is no problem. I've never owned a pizza oven so I'm just curious how the seasonal aspects of "pizza'ing" in NE works exactly.

So all you pizza lovers, what did you calculate as your breakeven on this? My bro bought it to show off to his guests. Used it no more than 5 times and now it's been collecting dust for past 2 years.
This is the challenge with these. If everything is ready to go, it's great. But when you want to have pizza you have to plan ahead. Like others mention you have to have multiday fermentation. When you're busy all week, it's not there when you feel like using it on a Friday night. And store bought dough is not the same.

Another issue I have is my kids are very picky about the sauce. They want it to taste like Papa John's. Good luck with that. I have not been able to duplicate their recipe. So they don't really appreciate a homemade pizza like they do with actual takeout.

I haven't used mine as much as I thought I would.

Just adding to the pile of people that love theirs. Had it for a couple years and still use it at least every other week. I have the 12 which has been big enough for me. Pizza is great, it also makes the best naan and pita that I've ever had.

I see a few comments suggesting that 00 flour is an absolute necessity, but I don't think that should stop anyone. You can make awesome dough with AP or bread flour. AP flour is a bit chewier which is neither an advantage nor disadvantage in my opinion. So if you're on the fence and you think you need yet another flour in your pantry to use this, don't worry. Your current flour will still likely make a great pie.

Do you mean the *perceived* added security when using PayPal? My PayPal dispute experiences have always left me unsatisfied, and then I end up filing a claim with my credit card company.

Just go to pieology, tell them what you want on the pie, watch them shove it into a much better oven, take out and put on a plate for you. $440 saved. Now if that is not slick I dunno what is..
Sure, except for when you want to host a pizza party (say 10 people). So, that's $11 pizza (per Pieology's website) X 10 people ($110) + 7% tax + 20% tip = ~$140... so $140 one time for one pizza. Bag of flour is under $10 and makes more than 10 pies. What I do agree with is you get your pizza with 10 minutes vs all the prep at home.

This is the correct model, it just requires the conversion kit for $50, super easy - https://ooni.com/products/ooni-na...8990508129
Thanks! Just makes the deal a little less slick then. The $50 for the conversion kit turns this into a 17% discount vs 25% ($599 nat gas price on Ooni website comes with nat gas hookup)

Thanks op. Been waiting to order one. This is the larger one and with gas, less cleanup.

You can cook a lot of things on or in a lot of things. Some things, like this, just do it way better.

How are these compared to the Blackstone pizza oven. My Blackstone is getting old.

Check your Amex cards, mine has 75.00 back with 350.00 plus purchase at Ooni, bringing this down to 375,00.

Oops just noticed this isn't sold from Ooni.
