Many people have asked me to recommend a good set of straight-edged steak knives that are made from high-quality steel but without $200 price tag. This set fits the bill. This set is part of Tramontina's ProChef line made from German Steel 1.4110 (X55CrMo14) at 56 HRC - which has good edge retention but without the risk of chipping. They are forged not stamped. With curved handles, they look very nice on the dinner table.
