Any info beyond a small thumbnail?

edit: took screen grab and zoomed. That's a good deal on a couple things. but if you're nit in a rush, and diligent, wait till next month when Fasteners Inc does their sale. I got the XSH03Z (left blade circular saw) for $100 and the XTR01Z (cordless router) for $70 (I stocked up on those routers then, and glad I did.)

I also bought several Dewalt as well the few years.

The Fasteners Inc deals are probably the best you can get... far better than HD, Lowes, Amazon, or other stores, but they sell out sort of fast. I really wish they had stores outside of California. It's definitely where the majority of my annual tool budget goes. lol.

Also, with Makita pushing their 40v platform this year, a lot of the 18v counterparts might get bigger markdowns everywhere. I've already noticed it happening.

Is $129 for the XSH03Z circular saw a good deal? Or should I just get the track saw XPS01Z, which seems to be on a much better sale percentage wise.

Use case is building a floating deck, want more precise cuts than using my chainsaw. I am not sure if I will use it again in the future though.

The track saw can only be used on the track which is not included. It is great for precision work. Think table saw cuts.

The XSH03 is a more generous purpose saw. It would be better for a deck. But the sale isn't nearly as good.

Thanks a lot! I'm also thinking of instead just getting a cheap corded miter saw and hooking it up in the backyard, to get more precise cuts for the deck. Thoughts?

A miter saw is the best tool if you're just cutting stick lumber down to length. A circ saw is needed for sheet goods and can work great for sticks if you're experienced.

Thanks OP. I'm going to try to track down an XWT08Z impact tomorrow.

Yes, get a miter saw for decking, it will give even novices excellent cuts and decking is really expensive material worth doing right. I'm partial to this one, it uses common and cheap 7.25" blades but still has a solid cut capacity and is incredibly light. I rarely bust out my more expensive (heavy) saws since I got this. It retailed for $99 but of course they discontinued it in favor of a much more expensive version. If you can find it near retail price you'll love it.

Looks like a great deal on some of these. If I was anywhere close, I'd be in for the band saw.

Picked up the 14" chain saw. Best deal I've seen on these for a year+. Usually they are $100 more.

That is a garbage saw. Kobalt tools are awful. For this price you can get a dewalt cordless, or a corded one for even less
