For people who want a concise comparison of the current Roku models:

Roku Ultra(2020) > Roku Streaming Stick 4k(2021) > Roku Express 4K(2021) > Roku Express(2019)

The "+" in the name just means a better remote.

The Roku has a pretty straightforward menu that can be less confusing and easier to navigate. If you have an iphone, Roku supports airplay. I like the simplicity of Roku.

The Fire Stick is a little more complicated to navigate with a busier home screen with suggested content. If you like browsing through content, the fire stick home screen is full of suggestions. You can side load apps with the fire stick, and integrates/can control alexa home and entertainment devices.

This is the best option for Roku. I have a bunch of AppleTV4k that I use for everything but Roku doesn't come on them.


I haven't looked at my Fire stuff since the first few weeks - the OS just seemed like it's built to sell you stuff - Amazon DID update their prime app on the AppleTV and it's it's a huge improvement over the last version.

I'd like to know this as well. I have 2 Roku Express and they're nearly bricked. They restart constantly, throw HDCP errors every time I turn it on and have trouble locating the wifi frequently. I am DONE with Roku Express. My old Roku 2 XD never ever ever had those problems.

I'm not sure if this offers anything more than the native apps loaded on the smart TV. I bought this a while back since it was cheap and I was curious, and I haven't been using it at all. what am I missing?

The Roku Express doesn't have 4k capacity, so it's obsolete if you own a 4k HDTV.

You should definitely upgrade if you have a 4k HDTV. Buy it from Amazon, they have an easy return policy. Their free Roku Channel alone is quite amazing.
