The predecessor to this version is my all time favorite (and currently used) headset, BUT be warned of a fatal design flaw in the hinge. While this version has reinforced it, it's only done so with plastic. If you look up "Arctis pro hinge" on Google, you can find plenty of content on how they've completely fallen apart and the absurd lengths people (myself included) have gone through to fix or reinforce it. For normally 350 USD, the only hinge the product depends on shouldn't be made of plastic. If you do buy it, I recommend reinforcing it, even if it does mean ruining the beautiful outside of the product. It'll save you in the long run.

I'll continue to rock my 1st generation ones until they give, but I wanted to warn you guys. It's an AMAZING head set, it's just absolute bummer of a product issue I'd rather you folks not face later on.

That being said, for 250, that's a great price.

Yup - this one works on Xbox, PC, Switch and PlayStation 4/5.

For those that own the Arctis Pro Wireless, here's the comparison - https://www.rtings.com/headphones...shold=0.10

IMO it's not worth upgrading from the Arctis Pro. Otherwise it's a nice headset overall.

Could anyone please tell me how this compares to the Arctis 7? I have that and have been mostly happy with it, but interested in an upgrade if it's noticeably better.

I bought the Xbox version from Best Buy today since it's also on sale there. I can confirm it works with both my PC & PS5.

I have my PC plugged into the Xbox port (still USB-C) and the PS5 into the 2nd USB-C port and I can seamlessly switch between the two.

Bluetooth works really for me too and I like that I can independently adjust the volume of the Bluetooth directly from my phone itself without affecting the PC/DAC volume

$250 should be regular price, $200 should be sale price.

This headset came out relatively recently. If they're already chopping $100 off, that means they're not making sales.
I had gotten two open box models from Amazon Warehouse Deals, The PS5/PC model mic was fine but someone destroyed the screen. Then the Xbox version I got, I had to put the mic guard all the way up or down, just to pick my voice up. But also allowed all my background noise to seek in. So it wasn't worth keeping it on mute 24/7. At this price I wanna give it another shot. But I been thinking of going with the Astro A30s tho.

Can you test the mic and let me know if it allows background noise?

I mean it's literally there on the BB and Amazon reviews and some youtube reviews as well but sure, whatever you say is the right thing regardless of any info.

I believe you can adjust the amount of background noise you can let through using the Sonar app and there's even a feature to use AI to virtually eliminate any background noise. I haven't delved too deep in the settings since I had to do some errands.

Juat bought the nova 7p. Is this a significant upgrade over those? Should i return and get these?
From reviews Ive read there is a noticeable improvement in quality (tho who knows if everyone would percieve or appreciate that difference).

Also, if im not mistaken any PlayStation model u buy will work only for PS and PC...whereas the xbox model works for all.

Additionally, being able change eq settings from the base station beats connecting to your pc.

I have the Arctis Pro Wireless, and wasn't going to upgrade. But with this price last week at GameStop I got tempted and bought it.

I'm liking it so far, but the XBox version has a major bug (actually I think it's affecting all versions; a couple of Reddit posts on it) - the base station doesn't turn off at all when it's connected to the XBox, even when the XBox is asleep. The display keeps turning on and off every few seconds. On Reddit, some posted that the company is saying it's so the unit can charge the battery even when the system is off. Well, that doesn't make sense. The Artis Pro Wireless also continues to charge. But at least the screen goes off.

Another irritant is that while using the system, the front display permanently stays on. On the Arctis Pro you could set the display to turn off after a minute or so (even when using the headset). This way the OLED wouldn't keep getting burned in. Also, if you are watching something in the dark you don't want a constant on display in front of you. To be fair - this was a feature added on the Arctis Pro just a few years back. Initially you could only dim it, and not turn it off. So here's hoping they add that feature to the Nova Pro as well.

Some more observations for anyone interested -
I had the USB port connected to the Switch while the XBox port was connected to the XBox. I realized that the switch cannot supply enough power to the base station, so the other port needs to be connected to something. The constant on and off display was annoying and so I connected the XBox port to the PS5, just so it can provide power (while I was playing on the Switch). The blinking went away, but as soon as I turned off the system the blinking front display came back - just the steelseries logo this time.

TLDR; - the unit cannot be kept permanently connected to a powered USB port, or the display won't turn off. Even if the constant blinking doesn't annoy you, this will eventually lead to burn-in of the OLED screen. So one has to physically disconnect the base station - but then the second battery won't charge. Multiple people complaining of this. Hope it gets fixed soon.
After reading your post, I went to check on mine, and I do not have this issue with the display. Mine turns off when it's not in use, even as it continues to stay plugged into the Xbox

yeah the xbox version works with everything. the other versions are specific but the xbox one is the only one that's universal and i have no idea why anyone would buy any other version. this is an incredible deal
From what Understand, The ps version allows two usb connections At a time. For the purpose of definitions, a usb connection is compatible with pc, switch, ps5, basically anything non Xbox. If you don't own or don't own an Xbox but own another device that is usb connection this may be preferred. Xbox edition only allows one usb connection while the second Xbox connection is Xbox/pc only . So I'm this setup you can have a usb device plus an Xbox connected at same time but can't connect a pc and ps5 at same time unlike the ps edition. This may allow you to unplug an replug less often depending on what you have.

Edit I am reading that the Xbox port works only for Xbox and pc.

This has active noise cancellation and two swappable batteries, as well as two inputs you can switch from the base. If those things matter to you, then it might be worth upgrading.

I have the original 7x and between still having a micro USB and no Bluetooth this is a pretty big upgrade comparatively.

A couple of things -
1. Is your XBox set to not supply power to USB port when off? If that's the case then of course you won't see this problem.
2. From Reddit posts I believe this is an issue only on the latest firmware cause they changed the behavior for when the ports are getting power (when the headset is not in use). If you are not on the latest firmware you may not see this problem.

From Reddit posts it's an issue affecting all headsets on latest firmware. People went and got their unit replaced in retail stores only to see the same issue.
