I believe it's not for all purchases. They have changed terms recently. Apple products and Best Buy gift cards are not eligible for reward points anymore.

The following are excluded from receiving points ("Non-Qualifying Purchases"): Apple and Beats products and Apple services not purchased on standard credit with My Best Buy Credit Cards; transactions for leased products; purchases made prior to becoming a member; purchases/rentals at rent-to-own locations inside Best Buy Stores; purchases from a Best Buy Store on a third-party website or marketplace (such as Amazon, Google or eBay); purchases from third party sites operating on Best Buy's behalf; transactions including instant rebates; pre-orders at the time of deposit (the points will be awarded at the time of final payment or at the time you pick up the product); purchases made for resale; purchases paid with a reward certificate; purchases involving promotional financing, purchases of Best Buy Gift Cards, purchases made with store credit issued by Best Buy; sales tax, donations, service charges or other excluded charges; certain Best Buy Business or commercial purchases; and certain exclusions in particular promotions.
Two months ago, when I purchased a phone in BB. They offerd me 10% cash back to open a BB CIty bank credit card. I exepcted to save $70 in cash back like otther CC. But later I find down:
1) It is not the "Cash back". The points in CB is converted to reward certificate, default at $25. These certificate will expire after 60 days after issuance date.
2) They only allow to use them on "qualifying product or service" in BB that total an amount "equal or greater" than the value of reward certificate used.
So when the reward cert almost expire I have to look at BB to buy something I even don't need. The problem there are no product is valued or total at $25, $50, $70 (You cannot use $25 RC on $24.99 and so on because the price is always $24.99, $49.99, $69.99). So I had to buy a air fryer $69.99 (although I have it already) and a pack of batteries $4.99 ( it is the cheapest).
So in the end instead of "SAVING" $70 I have to spend $6 more.
This is why even BB offer more than 10% CB, I will not use BB CC instead of using other CC which offer only 2 or 5% CB.

i've bought lots of air fryers for $30 and sell it to not so friends for $40, and to friends for breakeven $30.

The problem is I couldn't buy 1 or 2 $29.99 air fryer with: $25, $25 and $20 RC. There is no way you can buy anything w/o spend more money even the RCs is only $5 each.
In my case, I saw the small air fryer sale at $24.99. It is less than $25 RC.
Please give me your buying $29.99 air fryer using reward certificates example.

I've bought a bunch of air fryers and a bunch of other small and big stuff. Spending the rewards sometimes just takes a while and it isn't exactly like cash but eventually, I spend it before it expires.

Its a given in my case that I always spend at Best Buy. The gc "augment" my payment. I buy a sim card I use the rewards if I have any. I buy a nice camera, I use the rewards if I have any. I buy the Pixel 7,i use the reward if I have any. If you want to spend it exact to the cent and spend nothing else, good luck with that.
