what? a $300 computer that doesn't have the newest CPU and the latest nvidia GPU with 32TB of RAM and USB-Z connections? downvoted.

that's the base clock, which is basically the guaranteed minimum speed. the number that matters is the boost clock (3.6ghz).
Right, it can go "up to" 3.6ghz, but like DSL it will in practice never get to the "up to" speeds except in extremely short spurts. There's probably not adequate cooling to run it flat out at 3.6ghz, so it will spend most of it's time underclocked to avoid running too hot.

Please post a link here as that computer is more than worth the extra $30

Gateway 14.1" Ultra Slim Notebook, FHD, Intel® Core™ i5-1135G7, Quad Core, Intel® Iris® Xe Graphics, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, Tuned by THX™, Fingerprint Scanner, 1MP Webcam, HDMI, Windows 10 Home https://www.walmart.com/ip/911423355

When I went looking for info on this yesterday I found a very large thread 2 months ago from the $250 (B&M only) deal. I still think $330 is a good price for what it offers including the 11th Gen processor.

I am thinking of getting this for my mom.

How's the keyboard and touchpad quality?
You get what you pay for with keyboard and touchpad. Yes, it's functional but the mushiness of the keyboard and touchpad clicks gets frustrating. Wireless keyboard and mouse recommended, even for light use.

No, neither is touchscreen. The GWTN141-10 with i5-1135G7 is much better than this ... faster processor, much faster graphics, better battery life, twice the SSD and supports USB-C charging. Don't even consider the one in this so-called front page deal.

Once you're in the $300 range you can get yourself a nice off lease or used corporate laptop. I'd be very worried about the longevity of these devices
