As they should. I think I read somewhere these water filters have like $1 worth of materials in them. They sell at retail $40-$50. They're in the same class as inkjet cartridges.

Shoot. It's not the premium version. That's the one that I bought last time and it works perfectly. Can anyone comment on the advanced level of filter? At least they're making them again. There was a time where they quit making them.
Was going to get an LG fridge at a recent sale Costco had but I did too much research and the model I wanted sold out, so we got a whirlpool. I regret it. Not to mention other issues like insanely slow ice making, the filters are $60 a piece and only last 3 months. Stupid....
Looks like Amazon is trying to undercut the filter industry.

Yeah, we got our LG fridge from Lowe's with some stacked coupons and it's fantastic. They redesigned the ice maker so it fits inside the door (which prevents freezing and clogs) and the ice maker, although smaller, is pretty fast. It only hold about 16 glasses of ice, but if you have a party or something the acceler-ice button starts cranking it out like crazy. I didn't think I'd like the wifi connectivity either, but it turned out to be handy (it alerts you if the door is left open, when filters need to be changed, if there's an issue with a part, etc).
I was a Whirlpool/Kenmore guy but started switching over to LG appliances after this experience. Just got an LG wifi washer. Going for a dryer next. Whirlpool seems to have started cheaping out on their parts and build quality.
