Yeah, I'd personally stick with combination type A+C drives for now. I really like this one, which is $6 more for the same capacity: https://a.co/d/am6TyBB

Wish everything had type c ports but I don't quite feel confident enough to use these yet

Dumb question alert.
How do you plug them into your iPad mini? Through a lightning to USB-C female adapter?
TIA
If not iPad mini 6 , then yes on using lightning to usbC female adapter. If mini 6, direct plug

When your iPad is only 64GB and you have to endure 20 hours of flight overseas. Need them extra storage to put my tv shows 😜

Do you have a a link for a reliable lightning to usb c female adapter that can be used with this Samsung flash drive to backup photos/videos from my 128gb iPhone 7?
The ones I am looking at amazon don't seem to have reliable reviews and they are unbranded generic adapters.

That's exactly my scenario. Bought the 64GB iPad Mini here when it was $399 a while back, refusing to pay Apple the ridiculous premiums they charge for extra storage.

The only real need I would have for extra storage is movies, so these fit the bill perfectly, are tiny, and look great (and are super fast if you need them for other things).

And $200,000 for a Maserati is kind of high for a car, right?

Please link to a USB-C 512GB drive that is $24 by a real company. Waiting...

been waiting a long time for this to go on sale, this thing is faster than pretty much every flash drive even in $50 range.

very convenient to transfer large data from laptop to tablet since direct connection is extremely slow

Was just thinking the same thing. Basically $24 to add 25% more storage to a typical 1TB device and keep it in one of the otherwise unused USB-C ports

When you plug it into an iPad, does it just show as a storage device? Can you download movies onto it from apps like Netflix, Prime Video, and Apple Store Purchased movies and shows?

In my case its 256GB Macbook pro and 100% more memory :-)

If this comes in 512Gb or 1TB, it would have been awesome!

There is no exact similar drive/in this dimension from competitors, which seems the reason
