Different models from this but I've had front a top load. Front is easier to get stuff in and out of if you buy the extra $ pedestal and also seems to use less water. Top load I have had comes with an agitator not impeller and it seems to clean better and use more water. The biggest issue I had with front load was despite always leaving the door open after use, the seal would get moldy and is hard to clean all the crevices and even with hand cleaning and those washer cleaners it still smelled and made the clothes smell also.

Seems like Costco is clearing out old stock. All these ".97" prices are clearance items.

This is a long shot but we bought these during this deal and just recently have an issue with the washer. It will not run the clean cycle - it attempts to spin briefly during sensing including the agitator and then it sounds like it's draining and states it's completed all within a matter of minutes. Also tried resetting power and no luck. It works just fine if there are clothes in it and issue seems to be limited to empty washer situation since drain and spin cycle doesn't work either.
