The game requires it. They announced it a couple days ago. It's to stop cheaters from creating new accounts after being banned. PC gamers will be required to provide a phone number from a real phone plan. It won't work if you have one of those Tracphone plans or any other pay as you go plan. I'm all for it. It'll get rid of some dips*** kids who aren't old enough to have a phone and therefore not old enough to play this game.

Update: I just now saw a new article specifying that only the PC version will require a phone number. I originally said that people on all platforms would be required to provide a phone number, because the article i read just said it was required, and they didn't specify only PC.

I pre-ordered on PS5 but I'm canceling and getting this deal for Xbox Series X. I like the Xbox controller more. It just feels better.

After purchase, you should be sent a code via e-mail. This code should also be viewable on GMG if you view your order history. This code can be redeemed in the Store of your Xbox system of choice.
