Miitopia for $35...intriguing as this seems like it would be a fun game to play with kids, who would get a kick out of the Mii aspect. Anyone have experience?

First time Metroid Dread has been discounted on the Nintendo eShop (according to Deku Deals). Coincides with the first anniversary of its release.

I think there's a free demo in the eShop, which starts at the beginning and your save progress will carry over if you decide to buy. Give it a shot! I only played through the demo but it was pretty fun.

Metroid Dread really is an amazing game. Love the boss fights and the atmosphere. Everytime you unlock something, the game becomes more exciting.

Don't know if I want to pull trigger, but if I do, I'm contemplating between metroid or dragon quest. 🤔

Sorry if this is a dumb question or the wrong thread, but I want to buy my kid one of these games (Metroid Dread). However, I want to get it for him for Christmas. There's not some sort of staggered gifting option for digital downloads, is there? His Switch is new(ish), and the only game we've gifted him was a physical version.

I believe you can buy it but then delete it from your console so it doesn't show up. Then you can re-download it later.

like someone else said buy it and then download it later, i highly recommend going pretty much all digitial for a younger kid. then they can't lose the small game cardfs.

If you get it from a retailer, the digital codes don't expire. Direct from Nintendo, you could archive it but it would still show up in the all games section...

I'm touched by the show of support and advice being given to a parent trying to get their kid a holiday gift. Easy to see this as just a deals site but it's nice to be reminded every now and then of how this community can be really great.

To keep your purchase a secret

1) Purchase game thru your child's account
2) Delete (not Archive) the game. This will remove the game tile from the Switch menu.
3) Require a password to be entered in order to browse the eShop (link below).
4) Re-download the game when you're ready to gift it to your child.

Good price, but metriod is a pretty short game. Just hope to get a physical version at this price.
