YMMV. I picked up the GR Supra at my local walmart on clearance for ~$10.

No. I also get busted up packages from Amazon. My kids like to collect the boxes but some of them looked ratty.

I believe what he is saying is that they have been this price for a while. Last year sets but for some reason LEGO didn't retire them. You are correct that it is 20% off their original price. The fact they have been on sale since nov 2021 according to dealjumper does not negate that it's on sale, just a very easy to have sale.

I do not collect a lot of LEGOS but I will say that the car sets for sub $20 are so cool! Got the James Bond and wow, that thing is killer!

Been waiting on the Lambo to drop to the $16 price for some time - thanks OP, ordered it and the Koenigsegg Jesko. I have four of the eight-wide stud sets (Ferrari F8, Audi S1, Nissan GT-R, and Toyota Supra) and they are sooooo much better than the old six-wide Speed Champion sets.
