Also definitely very very cushy but durability will definitely be short

Not banned. Source- someone who runs marathon every year. You see more and more shoe companies copying the Nike vapor fly design. They are awesome shoes. There's a reason so many people wear them.
These shoes definitely aren't something you want to wear for daily use. They're intended for long distance runs. The sole will wear out quickly because it's this springy foam that isn't durable. Also there is a carbon fiber plate that gives it some rigidity. It's not intended for a shoe I would wear daily use. It's a shoe for racing.
These shoes are meant for racing. I've run all of my races from 5k to 10k in these for the past 6 months. I made the mistake of running in these the first time on a long slow run where I heel strike more and they were uncomfortable. I even consider getting rid of them until I was told they're meant for running fast on your mid foot and toes. My first 5k race I loved them. They're light, supportive and give plenty of energy return. I wouldn't recommend them on any long slow training runs. I'm not too fast either, I'm a 45 year old 23 min 5k runner. I would recommend them anywhere below 9 min miles on a tempo run, interval workout, or race.
Not at all. Have you watched any marathon runners in the past 5 years? Everyone is wearing carbon plated shoes. However, I would say it is unfair to compare record times in modern shoes to a runner 50 years ago.

No. These are specifically for road running and is a race shoe. It's not durable and definitely not good for a 12 yr old that doesn't have muscle development
