Long version:
We have had delonghi magnifica before that was a tank (like 15 years, bought at Costco discounted at $500, and then sold for $200 at the end still working great) but it only did the shots- we upgraded to this one for the automatic drink making including things with steamed milk.
App is a little cloogy.. example how much milk do you want in this recipe? It measured in TIME, and not volume, lol. My sister in law ordered this during Covid, and after a week the unit started leaking. Delonghi was out of stock on that one so they gave her a family discount coupon on their brands. She didn't find anything she liked so she ordered another brand, gaggia. I mention this because, we got to use the coupon on this machine later when in stock which made this maybe $80 less than this deal. We have had to send this machine in twice to delonghi (after waiting on hold 45 minutes+ they provide the box and pay for shipping) and takes about two weeks round trip for them to repair the unit. First time they said there was no problem did some basic things and sent the machine back (this is even with them video chatting with us to record the issue before they would try to repair). There was surface scuffs from the packaging when it returned which I called them on, they said they're ship parts but a manager would have to call me in three days (managers are never available on the call when you want them and they can choose to call you back or not in our case.). Fast forward maybe 3-4
Months having the same issue with the pump not pumping after it says the grind is set too fine. Call, they record issue, we have a manager call us back and he is going to make sure the scuffed pieces are replaced at well. Ship it off to them and they replaced the pump. ever since then it has worked great. I have called another time and gotten someone in like 5 minutes. Nice that they pay for shipping but still kind of a hassle. My sister in law had an issue with her gaggia and they gave her the option to have the part (grinder I think) shipped to her with instructions to replace it for faster service. I wish delonghi gave you the option.
