$70 for a pair of 35lb bumper plates. I know some aren't fond of 35s, but it's $1/lb for bumpers. The 25lb pair is also on sale for $1/lb https://www.walmart.com/ip/Tru-Gr.../364929992 > NLA for shipping, in store availability will vary by location

What the actual f did you just say because I genuinely don't know.
The other nice thing about bumper plates is they all have the same diameter regardless of weight (I.e., 35 lbs have same diameter as 45 lb weights). This is good when doing lifts from the floor because the barbell will be at the same height off the floor, regardless of the weight. This is not true for regular weights.
In addition to the comments on pricing ($1 per pound is quite good), the Chase 5% categories for this month include Walmart for those with a Chase freedom card.

What's the difference between bumper plates and the regular plates we more commonly see?
Bumper plates you can drop when doing Olympic style lifts while limiting damaging your floor. Like dropping the weights from over head. Or for CrossFit that drop weights.
You can do everything cast iron weights can do with bumper plates, but you can't do everything bumper plates can do with iron weights.
I got in on the 380lb everyday Essentials, but the trugrit we're definitely on my radar for affordable bumper plates.

Bumper plates are rubber/urethane and all the same standard size as the 45lb plate in terms of diameter.
Was reading up on these exact plates. Apparently the lip is thinner than your typical decent bumper plate. Then instead of the the lettering being raised and part of the mold/shape of the plate, it's flat and possibly just a sticker (can't verify the sticker part but it is in fact flat lettering).
Just a few obvious places they cut to save some $$. Besides that, pretty dang good price/lb. I might grab a pair of 25lb for practicing technique.

Thank you. What can you not do with these that you can do with iron weights?

You can't drop iron weights from overhead but you can drop bumper plates from overhead. Maybe I worded it wrong?
Thanks for that, my reading comprehension is poor lol.
Lol no worries! Thank you for explaining!
