I've had this kit for a few years. Think I paid around $80 for it. For casual projects around the house it's great. Plenty of power and handles really well. Build quality seems fine. Can't really speak to someone using them every day, but for light duty around the house it's a good value imho.

you can add the drill bit sets, whichever you like, maybe an ever better deal, it's like max $110 for the 41 piece set and the drill driver 2 pc kit and cheaper if you get a lesser drill bit set. 34 pc drill bit set maybe the best deal at $104

"Better" is an opinion, they both do the job, however from my personal experience Bosch is smoother, like less vibration - more silky smooth. Im sure power comparisons will have differing ratings too but my now 10 year old Bosch 18v set effortless does all I ask of them.

The DeWalt extreme (12v) lines are brushless and I'd assume they are more powerful, maybe slightly. This is the Bosch brushed motor version. They also have a brushless version and they are slightly better in terms of power and motor life. I actually own the brushed set and I love it. If you're getting into 12V lines I would recommend looking into Milwaukee 12v Fuels. They have tons of tools and all run on same 12v batteries. Bosch has very limited number of tools in 12v category.

You are not wrong about the ecosystem being small. That said, I love my 12 Bosch tools. I have 18v tools but the one I reach for first is this 12v drill. The set is a steal at $89. I do wish that Chase had the pay yourself back deal for big box stores. I would buy another set just because they are that good.

I really wish Bosch would have more tools on their 12V lines. I would've definitely got into it. And yes, I agree that this set is powerful for most jobs.

This. I've had them for about 5 years and still going strong. Put in a new subfloor a few years ago with the impact driver and it did fine. Is it a 20v dewalt, no. However the form factor is great and having two batteries is a big +. I've got bigger tools, but always seem to reach for these first outside of big jobs.
