I had one to pick up on the target deal. Ended up getting the TCL target deal for the 65 for a little bit more which was based on the comments here. It was after I picked up the 43 in for $130 and was impressed by the picture thanks to all the Slickdeals fam for the recs. I never knew anything about TCL but very happy with the TCL purchase and quality of picture.

For what it's worth, I had a Westinghouse from a Target Black Friday deal years ago and I was very happy with it. Lasted for years as our main TV and I'm pretty sure it still works, just in a closet somewhere.

I will never buy westinghouse TV again- Bought one in 2006 for $2400- 50" - lasted 18 months- it only had 1 yr warranty- they sent a tech to my house to replace the board and I split 1/2 the service cost-

That's the brand I was trying to think of! Element. That's the third brand I said I wasn't impressed with. The picture wasn't blurry, but the contrast was kinda bad. I was driving myself nuts at 6 AM trying to figure out what that brand was called.
I have a 32 inch Element that was used for 7 years 24/7. I still have it and works the same πŸ˜†

Not the same company [wikipedia.org] as it was in 2006.

Got a 58 inch Westinghouse for my parents just over two years ago. The speakers are beyond bad, even when compared to other cheap flat panels, but the picture gets the job done. Runs at least 10 hrs a day since purchase and no problems. My main issue isn't the performance, but the bad IR sensor placement... You have to aim the remote all the way towards re left of the TV bezel. I hope they resolved it here...

Do not connect any of these cheaper tvs to the internet to avoid software issues and potential targeted tracking. A failed update (dafuq?!) bricked a 43 inch Toshiba TV purchased from BB during BF 2016. The westinghouse was it's replacement actually.

If you need to stream or watch content, get a cheap dedicated box

Need your advice...
Looking for a decent 4k tv in the 40-50" range. Under $500. What brand model do you advise? Thx.
Dang, you just missed the Amazon prime deal with the hisense u6hf 50" for like $160. I got it and it's great. It's my 3rd hisense. The other two are u6g and it's great for the money.

I have a Hisense and hate it. Slow and cheaply made

Bought a Westinghouse 55" 4K from BestBuy in 2018. Use it in my shop. I use it exclusively with an Apple TV box so I don't have to mess with their "smart" functions, but it's still working and looks decent. I remember when I replaced the old Panasonic 42" I had, I thought the Westinghouse TV speakers were really bad. I guess I've gotten used to them.

But, like I said (knock on wood), it is still going strong.

If you absolutely don't care about brightness, color accuracy and viewing angles then sure.
Brought it last Black Friday and returned it within 48 hours. It was awful
