nice deal but I'd expect you can get this new this Black Friday for $1000 or so. I prefer refurb for bodies but for a lens like this I think an extra $150 would be worth it.

I expect this lens will be discontinued soon, so grab one if you need a 5 lb monster zoom.

New one is $1060 right now actually.

If you're going to hang onto your Nikon DSLR and are looking for a budget super-telephoto, the 200-500 is the answer. I used this with my D7100 and D800 (before going mirrorless) and this lens was a joy to use. Great entry level wildlife lens. It is large though so be prepared for that.
