I don't want this game. Stop trying to gouge customers Sony! $399 was launch price and I'm not paying for this crap game.

I wanted the digital only for 2 years. over 1.5 years ago I got an Xbox series by literally walking into a store.

Having both a PS4 and a Xbox One X I never intended to get either new systems but saw a Series X on store shelves back in 2020 and made a splurge purchase. Been arguing with my friends since how they are all like "if you really wanted a PS5 you could just go to the Sony store and get one". No thanks I did that with the PS4 and it arrived broken and was a complete hassle to send back.

Barely any PS5 exclusive games out either. You will also end up spending more money buying digital on PSN than buying physical copies so you don't really save money vs buying the model with the disc drive. Sony also doesnt have a good track record with their digital stores either, trying to shut down ps3 and PSP stores. Just a reminder you dont own your games and they want full control.
Depending on how you do it, digital can actually be a lot cheaper. A friend and I both have PS5s and do game sharing (every game either of us buys the other gets as well). We also stack up on PSN credit when Costco or another retailer has one of their 20-25% off PSN gift card promos.

Since we split the cost of every game, this means a normal $69.99 game on release day will cost us $52.50, divided by 2, means we both pay just $26.25 for every game we buy at launch.

I've never seen a launch game be only $26.25 physically. And because we're in California where tax isn't charged on digital purchases, we don't get stuck paying that either, where physical that would add another $6-$7.

Of course we are stuck keeping every game we buy, where physical you could sell when you finish, but at only $26.25 I don't mind keeping all the games I buy.

I'm sorry but I can't jump through hoops to give a business my money.
Clicking a button that says "request invitation" is jumping through hoops? LOL...

Edit: Clicked said "hoop" just for giggles and got an invite within 36 hours. Oh the horror of the process (and one that fights bots)...how my knees are killing from all this jumping Wink

You guys are so funny, you think just because you signed up for an invite that you'll get picked? Do you know how many customers shop at Amazon? Cry more.

Horizon FW is enough for me right now. This game is incredible. Playstation even stated that they have a ton coming out soon, and held off on announcing them at the recent conference

If you go on the store right now, games that are selling for $20 are often still $60 on the store. Its a lot easier to get deals on physical copies than going through the PSN store route even with the discounted PSN credit. Game sharing also has a lot of restrictions on it. Physical copies are easy enough to share and sell too once you get bored of it, you cant sell your digital copy and are likely to lose access to it sometime down the road. I just dont see any real benefits of digital when you lose control of your library and cant freely do with the game what you want and then have to worry about how long you will have access to said game.

Even then Horizon FW isnt a PS5 exclusive though, its still playable on last gen. Im just not seeing a massive jump in graphics between the PS5 and PS4 Pro or even the standard PS4. I think its fair to say the PS5 launch and current state of things is a big mess. Im really not that impressed by either the Series X or PS5 and I think a lot of people are waiting until the mid life 1.5 consoles that are inevitable at this point to get a better value for their money.

This should sell no more than $300 and the drive version for $375. Any higher price is literally theft for 2 year old console. (Zen 2 in these consoles when Zen 4 is out)
