I have a very similar electric glass kettle (and just bought 2 of these). The hard water build-up can be an issue, but cleaning is pretty easy, no soap, sponges, or scrubbing involved: add like 1/4" of white vinegar to the bottom of the kettle and dilute with water to the top of the hard water deposits (for me that's just a few cups worth). Let that solution sit (for an hour or overnight). Spill it out, rinse a couple of times with cold water, and then boil one full kettle of water (up to the max fill line) and spill that out. Your kettle will look good as new and no vinegar taste will be left behind! I do this maybe once a month, but it will depend on the hardness of your water and how often you use the kettle.
Bought this last year from BB. Guess the seal cracked after 2 months because it leaks boiling water down the front when pouring and makes a mess. Not worth the hassle
Seen that on some kettles. Basically you need air to be admitted into the kettle when water is being poured. On the other hand, steam must be captured and routed to automatic shutoff - no kettle would shutdown with lid open.
Sometimes designers mange to balance these flows, for others it's too much of a task and they gamble on buyer not seeing messy pouring until kettle is settled in the kitchen and return being a bigger hassle.
Not sure about this particular model, but I have a similar one which I was too lazy to return

Solid deal compared to elsewhere. Bought one to replace my 10 year old discolored plastic electric kettle.

Huh. Just found this yesterday at Goodwill, new in the box for $4. I was thrilled. Set it up and used it for coffee this morning (pour over). The only worry I have is possible build up of hard water on the glass. It came with a packet of citric acid for cleaning. Bella must be worried about it as well.

In for 2 - Great for pre-boiling water for Rice, noodles, and for tea/coffee. I have another brand with blue LED when boiling, it has a design flaw in the lid which broke and the vendor does not warranty their own product. Let me try Bella this time :-)

I am just worried about the functionality of the lid. The recent one (different brand) I own has a flaw and the lid broke, it's a commonly reported issue on that model. The previous one before that was from Kitchen-Aid that we used for over 10 yrs.

For $14 dollars, why not? Will be good for my oatmeal, cream of wheat, tea and other things.

Grabbed one. The one I got from best buy last year just died on me two weeks ago. For $14 I'll give em another shot
