USBC cables are a pain in the ass to figure out... How much power can they push? What is the data speed they are capable of (this is only USB2 speeds). Wish there was some way of being able to tell by looking at the cable. If you don't label it youself you end up guessing forever.

This especially sucks when you travel and think you have the right cables in your backpack and you're stuck with a cable that can't power your laptop sufficiently. This shouldn't be this hard. Like congrats, we now have a common connector for EVERYTHING but none of the cables work for everything.

Seriously. When you have a bunch of them all in different spec and you need one that's capable fast charging or higher data speed you don't know which is which.

they could have easily fixed this by potentially requiring the inside of the plug to be a certain color

Thanks for pointing this out -- it looks like 4 of the first 5 "Top Reviews" point out a signficant chemical/rubber/formaldehyde-like smell.

Which is a shame -- the price is great! Anyone of you kind souls able to confirm (or refute) the smell issue?
