Not true. This is 5 yards of fastening tape for cable management, etc. You wrap it around stuff. Unlike mounting tape, the hook and loop are on opposite sides of the same tape vs separate hook tape and loop tape. It is 5 yards.

It's not for holding 2 sides of something together. It's commonly used for wrapping around things like cables and wires to hold them together, like in the photo. I've used it to keep a rolled-up hose from unrolling. Ditto long extension cords.
