I have 20 Ridgid batteries and have done comparison tests just for fun when I was bored. I have three 6.0 Ah Octane batteries and five 6.0Ah Max Output batteries. In my vacuum runtime test the Max Output batteries lasted a little over a minute longer. I use both in my Ocatane Hammer Drill to mix mortar and can't tell any power or torque difference between them. I know the Torque Test channel on youtube compared the 3.0Ah Octane vs the 4.0Ah Max Output on impact wrenches and found a very slight torque advantage to the Octane, but I believe it was only like 3% of thereabouts. I like the 3.0 Ah batteries for my impact driver and drill at work because of their footprint and short and wide base. While I do like the rubber protection on the Octane line, my Max Output batteries are holding up just fine.

With this deal when both items are added to the cart the total will be $169 but they each have a split price of that cost. The "hack" is using what Home Depot allows and either returning one of the items for partial refund (leaving you with the "hacked" price") or doing store pickup but not picking up the other item you don't want/need.

Home Depot allows this, they can make deals that don't work this way and they have before but this is what they offer and what you can do. No morality decisions involved in following what they allow and have for a long time.

so i did the hack with 2 different stores i wanted the batteries
the saw was ready for pick up got a call from the store with the batteries. They had to cancel the order because they couldnt "get to the batteries" and will have it ready thursday and to come in. After a lot of back and forth they said they would honor the discount price so 82 bucks for the kit.

So I called the store since I never got the pick-up email for my second order and figured I would just order for home delivery if they were going to cancel as well. It seems that the batteries were probably just delivered to the store so they aren't unpacked and accessible yet, even though they show up in inventory. They will keep my order at pending and I'll get a pick-up notice in a day or two once they have it available.

For the hack (really needs a better term, but whatever), I ordered the circular saw for pickup at one store and the batteries at another. I already have several Ridgid batteries, so I don't need those. Can you cancel the pickup order as soon as you've picked up the part of the order you want, or should you wait the 7 days until they do the refund? And what's the easiest way to cancel, chat or call?
