got the 3d chair yesterday and thought i'd share some experience. delivery guy said it was the 4th one that day but only one with the installation. apparently folks are not selecting the free $99 installation option on the item page. they set it up, connected the foot rest and went through a brief testing to make sure it works. also took away all the packaging. we have it in the corner of the great room next to the tv. its a large room so it doesn't stand out like i though it might. it does look like a pretty high tech looking quality chair. it might be bit out of place in a more traditional decor.

everyone in the family had good things to say about it. in fact, wife fell asleep in the massage chair last night. very relaxing massage overall. there are rollers on the bottom of foot rest as well as on the calf section. the calf section also rocks back and forth for "kneading" action while airbags are inflated. its also neat that it will grab onto the feet using air bags then the foot rest gently pulls the legs for a nice stretch.

it will also hold on to the shoulders using airbags then 3d rollers will push up on the back and create an arch for a nice stretch. rollers go from the head / neck area all the way down to the butt so its a pretty long track. there are 21 preset massages but haven't tried them all yet. there does seem to be variety to the programming from the few i've tried. during programmed operation, settings such as back intensity, airbag intensity and foot roller intensity can be adjusted. there is a manual mode where all settings such as massage speed and others can be adjusted which i haven't tried yet.

heating in the lower back does work and there are 3 levels that can be selected. bt audio does pretty good job and better than what i expected. besides, these speakers won't be used for jamming anyway. still have to work through all the options so it will take some time to get a full picture.

now for some issues...one thing i would have liked is lighted keys on the remote. while the screen is backlit, buttons are not so its bit difficult to navigate in a darker room. i guess it might be a non issue once i get familiar with the button layout. also placement of the control knob on the arm rests sometimes causes it to turn on when you accidently bump the button while getting up from the chair. for some reason the back intensity setting didn't seem to have much difference between lowest and highest setting. may need to try more to tell for sure. when going through the initial body scan, for some reason it asks to manually adjust the shoulder height. not sure if that is supposed to be done automatically but detracts from the full auto experience.

EDIT:

shoulder height issue noted above is normal per the osaki/titan manual. insignia manual isn't very clear. osaki/titan manual has better explanation.

2) Shoulder position adjustment
·After detecting the shoulder position, the buzzer will beep. If there is any difference
from the actual shoulder position, adjust it to the appropriate position by pressing
the "UP" or "DOWN" key. The shoulder position has 11 adjustable levels. If there is
no shoulder position adjustment within 10 seconds, the massage function will start
automatically. Press "OK" directly to start massage immediately. If no shoulder
position can be detected, massage will be started according to the shoulder height
by default.

I bought this last time it was on sale for a thousand bucks. No regrets. Great purchase. Just make sure that your TV is mounted high enough on the wall so that you can see all of it in full recline...

5-10; 215 lbs - just got this last week from when it was last at this price. It would depend more on how long your torso is and it may not get all the way up to your neck(it does for me but just barely). Also note that it's lower to the ground(14") - it doesn't recline but I got something that would allow me to put my legs up that's around ~12"

The down button broke in less then a year in my making it pretty useless. I'm 5'10 and would say it's too small for me Buyer beware.

Does anyone over 6ft have experience using the compact massage chair ?
My friend who is 6'3" says it is ok, but his thighs where kind of off the chair. Headrest definitely not reaching his head, he might just being nice to say it is ok...

I purchased the compact last week and roughly those same measurements here and barely grabs the neck as well but just enough.

Instead of putting legs up I just pulled out my ol' heated foot bath spa which helps circulation in my feet and is nice in the winter time. An electric kettle with a temp stop at 120-145 helps a nonheated version or speeds up the process. Perhaps pairing with one of these or a parrafin wax setup would give some added feet benefit. If you have the kettle you can then make yourself a nice cup of hot tea after your massage. (Finding the recent slickdeal on Yeti cups to hold the heat well on this too) We've been enjoying this ritual and I'm happy I purchased as it has added some nice comfort at this entry price level.

I have those that you can put in any chair and a separate unit for my feet, they both have heat and shiatsu massage, it does my feet legs back and neck, I paid less than $100 for both…. So for those out there who think this is too expensive, try out the separate units, it satisfies my message needs

I dont' have this specific model but my 2d massage chair is divine….while it worked. At the moment my Best Massage chair is stuck on Body Scanning mode (not detecting the user on the chair) and will time out 20 minutes later. My advice, get an extended warranty on these.

6'2" 230lbs athletic build here. Been using the gull size chair (not compact) for about 6mo. It's very good, reaches the neck area but you will have to do a custom massage since the presets don't do much for the neck. Minor gripes are the lack of a back-lit remote and the really loud beeping when you press any key cannot be turned off

I got the 2d zero gravity chair in black back in January. I absolutely love it. I have guests that come in and it's the first place they visit! It's not as good as an actual massage therapist that you have visited multiple times and knows your body, but I can say with confidence I've paid 200+ dollars for massages at resorts and cruise ships and this has been nicer than all of them.

My only complaint is that it doesn't quite get all the spots you would want for people 6'+, but I just scooch down a little to get the neck and shoulders better. It's probably my favorite possession and absolutely worth the buy!

- Also I've read some negative reviews about the delivery. In my experience they brought it up the elevator to my apartment, unboxed it, and placed it right where I wanted! They did everything but plug it in for me. I'm not sure if this is standard or because I am in a wheelchair, but I had a wonderful experience.

Grrrrr.... just like last week, $110 delivery charge. I understand most see "free delivery," however I don't.
"Order now and get it delivered as soon as:
Tue, Nov 15 - $110
Select your delivery date in checkout."

and in checkout:
"Delivery as soon as Tue, Nov 15
Delivery + Installation is unavailable in your area"

good deal for those within delivery range lol

Does this work well as "dads" chair? Meaning the one I would watch movies in?

i had a horrific experience with customer service after they cancelled my delivery without a single word. I had ordered this for my mom, who cleared out her entire saturday. wasted an hour of my saturday with support when they could have given me the phone number to geek squad before 60+ minutes into the conversation with a quote "As a chat support team we have limited access, I request you to please call our Geek Squad number 18004335778 so that our calling team will help you", seriously, why not just give me that number right off the bat.

oh well, last time best buy, last time.

We got one of these last week, no issues, honestly either myself, my wife or one of my kids have been in it since last Thursday. It is small, but if you are sub 6'0 / 200lbs it's great for the price.
