A few weeks ago I got a C1 from last year, 65" for $1450 at Cleveland Plasma (total, zero shipping/tax) -- not quite their standard price, but to get the sale they beat the current Amazon deal even with their 10% back. C2 or even G2 are only better in minor ways. Paying $1800 or so for the C2, or this $1950 for the G2 doesn't really make sense for my needs. If I wanted those badly enough I'd just wait a year and save $300-400.

C2 or even G2 are only better in minor ways. Paying $1800 or so for the C2, or this $1950 for the G2 doesn't really make sense for my needs. If I wanted those badly enough I'd just wait a year and save $300-400.
The c1/c2 model warranty is YMMV if they take a swap. I thinks it's better to compare C1 to C2 and G1 to G2 instead of any C to any G. The price difference for me is the panel warranty. But I could be mistaken,

You could argue at the low rate of failure, that it's a fairly expensive insurance policy, but of course you get other benefits like slightly increased brightness and such. I can see why that would be worth the increased cost.

On brightness, I'm not certain on the 2022 models, but in 2021 it was only a 10% brightness increase. Since the human eye works logarithmically, this is only barely perceptible. That said, the lack of brightness for HDR is one of the main remaining weaknesses of OLEDs, so I can see people wanting that little bit extra. Especially if you tend to watch during the day in a bright room.
They also keep making motion handling slightly better year by year, though they're incremental improvements. On the other hand there's also a random settings downgrade -- Black Frame Insertion can no longer be set to "low" on 2022 models I believe, which is the setting I mainly use it on to minimize loss of brightness. This alone would push me to 2021. Hoping they reverse that change at some point. Though to be fair, the brightness loss is less than it used to be.
EDIT: So I looked it up, and apparently the improvement in brightness in the G2 vs the C2 is a little greater than in 2021. So it may be more noticeable. Though both are brighter than their 2021 versions.
