Wonder when Samsung will have the *courage* to remove the micro SD card slot from the tablet line just like they did for the phones after the S20.

Do we need to remove a screen protector on a tablet before sending it in?

Not much difference, to be honest.
I took a look: https://m.gsmarena.com/compare.ph...one2=11343

VERY minor differences between the 2. Like an upgrade from BT 5.0 to 5.2. Minor CPU update, slightly heavier

Got a rose gold one with a s6 lite turn in for $200, so seems like a pretty good deal to me. Can't remember what I paid for the s6 lite, but it was never that great of a tablet.

Any idea what I am doing wrong?

The original post to this thread shows this deal is for the S8+

Galaxy Tab S8 Includes:
Galaxy Tab S8+
S Pen
Data Cable
Ejection Pin

So I choose that.

I have Tab S6 to trade in for $375 instead of $450 for S7, no biggie there... but the total is $356.24 at the end.

Galaxy Tab S8+, 128GB, Silver (Wi-Fi) $899.99
---
Trade-In Discount(s)
-$375.00
Promotional Discount(s)
-$150.00
Education Savings
-$18.75

TOTAL
$356.24

S7+ for S8+ is basically $300 OTD
why would anyone do that when there's almost zero difference between the two? not to mention the horrible SD Gen1 inside the S8 that throttles due to excessive heat

samsung needs to increase the TIV for S7+ to at least $700 to make it worth a while

I wouldn't say the CPU is a minor difference, Its two generations. SD865 vs SD8 Gen 1.

https://nanoreview.net/en/soc-com...on-8-gen-1

You're looking at 20%-50% uplift in performance depending on the specific task you are doing. Although the SD8 Gen 1 is a very hot chip, the large surface area that tablets have allow it to remain cool and hold its performance for much longer.

That being said, there is no other difference between the two tablets. Everything else is nearly identical so if processor performance is not high on your priority list, then I wouldn't suggest upgrading. The SD865 is still far from slow even for today's standards.

I got the s7 fe for iPad Air trade deal. Sold on eBay for $320. Then bought s7 plus 256 8gb for $397 via Samsung Edu no trade in required. I don't think it's worth it to trade for the s8 plus.
So say instead I traded the s7 fe for the s8 plus 128gb and not bought the s7 plus 256gb, it would be $332 plus the price I got for selling s7 fe so say $290 after fees = $622. Or am I missing something.

Just be careful when doing trade ins with Samsung, I have a horrible experience, I sent a barely used S7+ earlier this year, was told that it did not qualify for trade-in due to not being factory reset(total lie) when the tablet was returned to me it had a broke screen and no longer turns on. Just my 2 cents, others might have a different experience
Yes. I experienced the same. However I did two things beforehand as I anticipated the problem based on other users feedback. First, I used a virtual card which I locked immediately after they charged the purchase price so that would prevent them from charging the trade in. Second, I took pictures and video of packing the tablet and it working. That evidence helped me get my trade in approved.

Ah was hoping to grab a cracked S7 for dirt cheap, but cheapest seems to be about $220 making this $350ish. Still a good deal but was hoping for even better!

What else are you going to do on your s3? Best value you're going to get out of it. I just jumped on offer up and bought an s3 for $25 so I can trade in for $250. Seems like a no brainer to me
I'd still be out $299+ for something I rarely use anyway...so not worth it for me. Enjoy though!

I have S7 from my niece, but she forgot the credentials to the account. Device already reset to welcome screen. So now the tablet is useless and read requirements for this trade-in. Thought I was lucky for a second.
