I'm going to have the baddest kayak on my lake with a 12" screen on the bow.

Really good price if you're in the market. C-Map is actually pretty good (especially for freshwater areas) and is continually improving as well - they've been sending / hiring boats to go out and scan to fill in mapping gaps. You can also overlay your own maps created by the ducer to fill in any local areas missing.

Easy enough to set up a NMEA network and toss on an engine interface cable for fuller integration as well.

How is the GPS function on this unit? I primarily would use it as GPS/chart plotter with depth finder and water temp capability.

Wild question, does anyone know why these are used in trophy trucks as navigation? Yes, fish finders.
Because they are very rugged. Just change the base map and you're good to go.

The device has a good GPS built in and the ability to read and process engine and other data via a NEMA2000 backbone.

What a great deal! But too big for my kayak. Still sad I missed out on the $99 lowrance hook2 7". That would've been perfect for kayak.

You wouldn't be disappointed with a Garmin Striker 4 Plus CV. That's what I'm replacing in my kayak with this monstrosity lol

I believe its the very same unit, without the sensor installed. Lowrance is sort of old school for GPS these days (many have moved to Leadnav and others) but I still see them around. Personally, I think a 12" screen is too large unless its for your codriver

That's fascinating. I meant co-driver nav. Honestly I just want something daylight visible and it's not like you can 'ask someone you know'.
