Some Stores still have the drill kit marked down to $350, and the promo works even though it isnt advertised in store yet. I got the drill kit, jigsaw and ratchet for $350 plus tax yesterday.

Got this in 2019 when I started my tool collection. I went with the (subcompact) reciprocating saw and multitool (got to choose two at that time). I use the drill, impact, and reciprocating saw all the time. I've beat them up a bit and they have held up very well. You definitely can't go wrong with Makita although it is a bit expensive. They have a few lemon tools that just aren't good, so I've been going with Ryobi for those, and using this [amazon.com]battery adapter so I can stick with just the Makita batteries.

You also can't go wrong with Milwaukee. They have a consistently great selection of tools and in my experience there is a better selection of wearable Milwaukee parts in the US, although I personally haven't had any major issue finding Makita stuff (Amazon exists which helps).

I was at HD yesterday, they are setting up their holiday deals. Store is packed with boxes right now. My guess they gonna run the same special for months like last year for the holidays

Thanks for the tip! was $349 in store for the combo. I grabbed two other tools that I knew were in this deal from the website (jigsaw and blower in my case). The two extra tools came up as free, cashier was a little surprised at the total.

Also, be sure to check all the boxes. They are seem identical but some have the xdt19 and others have the older xdt16.

As to further hacking, you can partially do it. The two free tools have a "Max Refund Value" on them. For the $189 jig saw the max is $96 and for the $149 blower it is $75. So in my case I could return the 2 free tools and have gotten combo for ~$179. If you're trying to hack might want to pick the most expensive free tools (like 2 jig saws).
