Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I love this game. The number of cars that you can unlock is immense, and yes, the difficulty is hard to get used to, at first, but after learning the timing for drifting, braking, and when to ease up, it can be so rewarding to come in first. Also, the stats on the cars really do affect handling and speed. Meaning, it may be more practical to take one car for a track or event over another. It was too difficult for my kids (8-9), but challenging enough to scratch that toy-in-normal-sized-environment-map itch for me. It's no Forza Horizon, but it's a great Hot Wheels game.
Thanks for the heads up, was thinking to buy this for my son but if it sucks it sucks
It's not so much that it sucks, but it's way, way too hard for a child. I have trouble doing a lot of the races and I'm an adult who has played many racing games. There doesn't seem to be any sort of steering assistance options, either.

I agree with this. My son and I are having a blast playing two player on PS5. The cars and tracks are just fun. There are difficulty settings. Easy is too easy. And medium is tough but rewarding, you really gotta fight to come in the top 3.
Just putting this out there as I see a lot of people asking about if a game is good or not. I've gotten into the habbit of checking my local library for titles I'm wondering about and then checking them out to give them a try. Pending on the library, there could be a large number available (we are 100+ for the switch) and it's great to give them a try. And if you find it not worth it, not out anything. If you like it, can keep borrowing it or buy. Been great for figuring out what games are worth it and being able to play while waiting for a deal to hopefully pop up.

It is absolutely not too hard for kids. Kids pick up games like nobody's business. This game is cake walk if you put it on easy.
