This refurbished direct from Nintendo was 99.99 earlier this year.

I get that it's sold out everywhere but I feel that $170 for the same thing is still a bit steep

To each their own though

Serious question, what are a couple 'must play' games? .... I have a 2ds but has hardly played it

Exactly! This is just an inflated price but I know they will likely sell since it's sold out and you can mod them. Was considering getting another for my son but I think I'll pass and just share the one we have now.

You can find these all over FB marketplace too just FYI for anyone who wants to get one to use. I've seen people post these with great condition and with games included. It's YMMV but still worth it if you really want one.

I let my kids use 2DS/3DS in a 30 min school bus ride. I don't want them to take switch to school and lose/damage/stolen. Their favorites are Mario Kart and Pokemon Smilie

I wish I bought this when it came out! Now it's very hard to find...

Fire emblem awakening and fire emblem shadows of valentia if you're into turn based strategy. The Fates games are okay too if you end up liking those two.

Stupidest thing I ever did was sell new one I got from Walmart for $99. Ughh. Now I am looking for one myself.

Fire Emblem: Awakening, Pushmo, A Link Between Worlds, Super Mario 3D Land, NSMB 2, Bravely Default, Radiant Histora, Pushmo, Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask Ports, Mario Kart 7, Samus Returns, SMT IV, Dragon Quest VII, three Mario & Luigi RPGs, Pushmo... And that's before going into the DS games.

Keep in mind that while it was a great system, the Wii U was a commercial flop. During the same time period, the 3DS was selling like hotcakes. The MUCH larger install base caused developers to put a lot more focus on it. There's pretty much an endless stream of great games for it. I bought one of these 2DS XL's a few years back beacuse I had put so much time in on my original 3DS XL that it literally wore out.

Did I mention it has Pushmo?
