Generally, coffee drinkers need coffee makers, espresso drinkers need espresso makers.

This is great price if you are looking to get Jura.
I got it from Costco at $1300 few months ago.
Good machine but did not work for me.
First, the color. Did not do well with my wife.
It is narrow but long. Sticking out from under upper cabinets.
But I did like the clean design.
Constant cleaning is automatic.using a lot of water for small tank. For some it is good but I did not like it. Especially when coming back for more coffee between meetings right on time for rince and shutdown process.
The most annoying was using occasional ground coffee. Many times machine forgets about it and starts grinding from the hopper instead of using preground decaf.
Had some piles of ground coffee in the tray too.

Fully automatic? Integrated grinder? Integrated one button push cappuccino and other drink maker?

This seems like overkill. Lattes for dummies. I can froth my own milk. My Breville works great and for half the price.
Cool!

Then why are you 3 pages of comments deep on a coffee maker deal!?
That was my failed attempt at sarcasm directed towards the comment above. I thumb up and purchased this machine.

That's like 6 cups a day for 20 years!!

Folks, caffeine is one of the most addictive substance available. It's not good for you. You guys are nuts.
You heard him, folks. Fun's over, pack it up and move on home.

Hmm, well if you instead paid for a

$5 latte on the way to work, 20 times per month lets say, then in one year you will have spent $1200

Cool. So you're math is drinking less than 1 cup a day for 1 year, is cheaper than drinking, 5 cups a day, for 10ish years?

Checking calculations....

Math don't work like that 😂
if he's math, you're definitely the opposite of math

He was simply showing that if you're the type of person who gets a $5 latte every day on the way to work, this machine will have paid for itself in a year, let alone 10 years. You should delete your comment because it's definitely taking the dunce cap right now...

Will this make better coffee than delonghi magnifica? I paid $500 for that and I don't really care for the taste. I would love to buy this jura if the taste is right
I bought an S8 as an upgrade from the Magnifica and can confirm the Jura is substantially better at making espresso based drinks. The S8 has been running strong for 2 years and I have no regrets on this purchase.

distilled or ro if you don't want scale and fouling up. Bottled is often times purified tap water only. It'll still have scale and foul up your machine over time. We use a jura at work with ro water (15 + years and still works with 2-5 cups/day.)
RO's a funny thing. A lot of newer ones have remineralization. Still trying to figure out whether it's a good or bad thing. Some places say it'll destroy your machine, some places say it's better than 100% purified water. Although, I've also read that remineralization raises PH too much and changes the flavor of the coffee. I feel like water + espresso is not a very cut and dry thing.

One thing is for sure, hard water is bad. So getting rid of most or all of it with either RO or a whole house water softener is important for your machine's health.

Have both, and the Jura is such a pain in the ass to clean compered to the magnifica if you are making milk based drinks.

Does anyone know how much it costs to maintain this? Does the milk system need to be cleaned with their proprietary cleaning tabs each time it's used?
Not the cleaning tabs but they do have a liquid that needs a few drops added to the cleaning tray at the end of each day of use to rinse the milk system. It's 30 some dollars for 1 liters- so guessing will go 1-2 years for sure. Filters might be another maintenance expense. But I hear Juras are the easiest to clean in super-automatics.
