Got mine about two weeks ago with this program. Radio seems to work well with an upgraded Diamond antenna.

It would be difficult to participate now if you haven't started the licensing process yet due to the time it takes to test, process, and get your FCC call sign to use on the application process.

Take about a week after you pass your test. At least on online test. Passed test 21st, FCC fees paid 24th, they gave me my call sign today. So even if you take test in person today, FCC take about 3-4 days to issue call sign. You need call sign ,before you can apply for program. So i would think probably not . I applied today and got my coupon code for the kit,and already got a shipping confirmation awhile ago. I got lucky and heard about it after i took test.

Congrats! I'm glad you got your license AND the radio. I have neither but if they offer it again, I'll definitely go for it!
