Regards to Fire. All silicone mats can melt or catch fire at around 500 degrees. Or, if not cleaned properly, the crap left on them can start a fire. This is true of dirty pans. That is why the all have a rating of 425 or 450 degrees and no higher. So, if you sell 100,000 of these, as amazon probably has, you are bound to have people mis-use them and have them melt or catch fire etc. this is entirely USER ERROR not the fault of the mats. I have used these for years, along with the French version Silpat and they all work perfectly for baked goods at or below 450 degrees.

They do need to be cleaned, just like pots in your sink, soap and warm water does the trick fine.

100k reviews and they are almost all positives but the 1 stars are enough to scare me away. It will cost more money to replace the pans they may ruin or damage from the fire they may start.

Bought them for my parents during that Prime Day deal and they work well, my father has used them several times in the oven and they still look brand new.

I've had AB baking mats for several years. They've never caught fire on me.

These are annoying to clean. I'd stick with parchment paper.

Pro tip, if anyone has a griddle these are great to throw ontop of and use egg rings to cook perfect egg patties for your english muffin or what have you. That's actually how mcdonalds cooks their eggs but rather than a griddle they use something similar to a panini press.

Easy cleanup.
