Would an 8 Ah battery with the larger cells actually be better than these for a Flexvolt Advantage 20V tool? I think these are 18650 cells.

Lots of Dewalt sales today on SD if looking for 60V Dewalt batteries:

These are 6ah at 20v. If using them as 60v batteries, they are only 2ah.

Maybe my least favorite battery of all dewalt batteries personally and disregarding price. Lacks the power of a 9ah or 12 battery but still big although not as big. Also not as powerful as the standard 20v 6ah or 8ah but obviously has benefit of being used even on flexvolt tools. I get why ppl buy it because its more price friendly then a 9ah and its still a flexvolt battery but im jus giving my opinion

I really like the 8ah 20v. They have the form factor of a 6ah, but with extra power. They work great on the 7-1/4" 20v saws. I like the small amount of additional weight they add to the balance of the saw. It helps me be more accurate with the cut and have plenty of power to rip 2x material, as well as cross cut just about any wood.

Yes man caver tools on youtube proved it awhile ago. Seems like "flexvolt advantage" and "power detect" are jus marketing gimmicks. Of course the 6ah flexvolt has more power then a 5ah like the marketing compares cuz its 15 18650 cells vs 10 18650 cells. But the 21700 cells are more powerful from the 8ah which is 10 21700 cells. Now yes 15 18650 cells beats the 3 and 4 ah slim that are only 5 21700 cells but makes sense since its triple the amount of cells
