Correct. But low-end samsung is considerably worse than mid-range China. A Hisense U6 series is miles better quality image, brightness, software, and HDR. This TV is a 6.9 on RTings. Any of those chinese local dimming TVs are 8.0+. The average buyer would be much better off buying a used Sony/Samsung/LG at this price. It just isn't any better than the Samsung Walmart models.
You will see more models like this one
Dont expect any better quality displays to be part of BF
Not doorbusters but for $50 to $100 more you absolutely will get Local dimming. This model is pretty much a 7 year old TV tech wise. The real deals are always in the last year midrange products while the doorbusters are all like these.

i wouldn't trust cheap local dimming; it's not worth it having black crushing and awful zones that distract from the viewing experience

it's great to have much many have cheaped out on putting as little zones in bigger tvs which makes it more apparent it's cheap as hell

full array is better than nothing but just having local dimming isn't going to give any better PQ in darker environments

samsung loves to go bright with their LED backlight and it will over contrast

I have never had an issue with Sony TV's
As matter of fact I have a Sony Z9D, X900E and X930E in my home right now
I have had some issues with Samsung...bought a Qn90A and there were spots across the top of the screen. It may have been shipping damage as it was like that out of the box
I did receive a refund and a new unit that seems to be perfect

I have had a Vizio M series die and a Vizio P series I bought for my mother died as well
Both the one that died on me and hers were under the Best Buy Geek Squad warranty so I received full refund on both
I bought her a Sony X950G to replace the dead Vizio P series and all seems good

She also has a Samsung KS8000 that has been going strong since 2016
my ks8000 recently somehow has a cluster of dead pixels

it was strong until this unfortunate blemish

it's too old to repair so no idea where to go from here

It kills me tv manufacturers aren't making high end 60 inch tv's anymore. My father is a woodworker and custom made a wall unit entertainment center for me and the biggest tv I can fit is a 60 inch. So I either stick with my 7 year old samsung (which even being only 1080 has a way better picture then this) or drop down to a 55. 😤

See of you can snag one of the closeout QN9D( QN90A) from the Walt's via Walmart deal
For $1169, for a 65", its a better set than than the KS8000 is and it also cheaper than the KS8000 was back in 2016

Can you use a TV like the LG G1 OLED ( 65") and either use some low profile " feet" or mount it inside your space in your entertainment center?

I would pass for no reason other than the lack of USB and HDMI ports. While you could argue that you could possibly get USB or HDMI hubs, they don't match the convenience/quality of built-in ports, and sometimes don't work as expected.

I would buy it if it was a 69 inch for $420. This is simply not worth it for that specific price.

Every person I know talking about Hisense has had it die just after warranty. I wouldn't touch that brand with a 10 ft. pole.

Unfortunately no. Its the width and height that are issues. I have 54 3/4" x 33 1/4" of space. My current tv has very low profile feet (1.6"). I have a little over a 1/2" of space around my tv. Even with newer tvs being pretty much borderless I can't find any 65 that will fit.

Nowadays, 60" sized TVs all use VA panels sourced exclusively from Sakai Display Products (SDP, aka Sharp). So panel lottery should be exactly the same as the $343.99 60" Hisense A6G sold at Best Buy.

This is a rebranded TU7000 model with slightly shittier speakers. It's a Black Friday model TV is all.
