the bass is clear and strong enough though. careful that some speakers can do go lower than this subwoofer so don't pair it with good speakers than can go lower anyway. check the minimum frequency on your tower speakers first and check if this sub can go significantly lower.

Even if your tower goes lower you want to send the LfE signal to sub instead for better A/V receiver power management

Bass and room configurations can have some weird effects depending on many variables. It's possible your seating position is in the spot where some frequencies are getting canceled out from the two subwoofers.
I would recommend looking up some guides for placing two subwoofers in a room. It's rarely a simple task.
Excellent sub! I have two j110's. This line of subs are basically clones of the Klipsch R-110/112/115 series.

Lots of things could be going on. Are the subs in "mirrored" positions? In other words if one is in the center of one wall, the other should be in the same position on the opposite wall. Example: If you have to push one sub sideways to the front of the room a feet feet, do the opposite/mirrored position on the other wall by pushing it the same distance towards the BACK wall. Understand? Are your main speakers highpassed at 80hz? Is the frequency knob on the subs at the highest frequency? Play an 80hz tone (you can find them on YouTube...make sure your TV's speakers are off) while sitting in the main seat from the subs and the main speakers. Have someone flip the polarity switch on each sub independently. Using either your ears or an spl meter (or an spl app on your phone held where you head is) find the setting that gives the most output or at least doesn't "dip" in loudness.
Ideally you'd buy a calibration mic from parts express or minidsp and use a free program like room EQ wizard to tune the subs. If your receiver/processor doesn't have a good room equalization software, pick up a minidsp 2x4 hd and tune the subs. It all depends how far you want to go. Usually just plopping subs down wherever doesn't give good results.
Still a deal! Lol. This is probably the go-to budget sub today without something "better" going on sale.
