I'm not sure why this isn't getting more attention. Its $200 cheaper than the front page deal from a few days ago, https://slickdeals.net/f/16120087-49-lg-49wq95c-w-ultrawide-5120x1440-144hz-nano-ips-monitor-1197-free-s-h. Also, with BestBuy and Amazon you have until Jan 14th / Jan 31st to return it if it doesn't work out.

Edit: Pulled the trigger since it checks off the boxes I wanted, namely that it has a built in KVM and USB-C power delivery. Been wanting to reduce cord clutter and replace my dual monitor setup.

Short answer is the Alienware is more geared toward gaming while this LG is primarily an office monitor with some nice gaming features (like 144hz and FreeSync/G-Sync). For me, even if the price were the same, I'd pick this monitor for the slightly wider aspect ratio (replaces two actual 27inch QHD), USB-C w/ Power Delivery, and KVM features. I plan to do mostly work on it, with maybe a few minutes of Rocket league if the 4 kids ever leave me the hell alone.
Wish they'd list the height and width rather than diagonal - these utrawide's fail for me because the screen height is hopelessly small

Exactly, I just ordered too from BB due to easy return. I ordered a CRG9 last week and found a dead pixel, so easy return for monitors like this is very important. Compared to CRG9, this monitor is IPS and much less curved. The response time is 5ms compared to 4ms from CRG9, so I guess not a big difference. I'll see if I can notice the difference in curvature.

I ordered a S95UA (business version of the CRG9) and returned it due to dead pixel as well. When you drop $1k on a monitor, having a dead pixel will not bring you joy.

What's the equivalent dual monitor setup (just so I can visualize what 49" means). I've been looking at the 38"s and just started getting comfortable with the idea of that width lol.

I'm so tempted to get the ultra wide.. I'm currently using 2x 32inch 4k (3840x2160) and a FHD 24.. only thing that hesitates me is the 1440 height.

Dual 27inch 2k display. I have both setup at home. After a while I can't go back to the dual 27. Although at first it was a bit weird.

I have the 38" version of LG ultrawide - and i think its this model - I am hesitant with 49" as i feel like it will just strain my head/neck

It's a little weird at first. But it's honestly something you work notice after a while.

It's not too bad. It's like putting two 27" monitors side by side. Going from 32" to this takes a little getting used to though.

Curious...why? Dual 32" 4ks to effectively 2 27s 1440p.

What do you mean by effectively 27 1440?

Anyone have thoughts between this and the Alienware 34" OLED monitor?

I think this is a good deal.

I noticed there are two USB-A ports on the right side of the monitor. Do we have to use a second cable (aside from the USB-C cable) to connect the laptop/PC to the center USB-upstream, in order to use these two USB-A ports? If yes, it is awkward.

Comparing to SAMSUNG S95UA, which has two USB-C and three USB-A and does not need a USB-upstream connection(?), this LG looks weird in connectivity.
