4.5 watt. The fixture only cares about how much power the light bulb draws.

If the fixture says max 40 watt, are these bulbs considered 60 watt or 4.5 watts?

I maybe wrong but 40 watt is the incandescent bulb wattage maximum; these a 4.5 watts.

Great price - probably b.s. on the life expectancy though; still worth it. Thx.

Dammit. I paid twice this a couple weeks ago when the daylights were on sale (the soft whites weren't as cheap then)

Had previously bought 6000k bulbs for all the bedrooms and have regretted it since. Now I can finally replace them.

correct

the filament is only rated to have 40w go through it otherwise too much heat or light or it will burn out faster

it's all about honing your expectation
